It shouldn't die. Other games should stop following in its footsteps.

Call of Duty is an iconic gaming title with new experiences every year (while some ill-faded) that brings mostly great campaigns and side modes. (Zombies, Survival, Extinction) I feel like the series appeals to different players in different ways. I love zombies and will buy EVERY Treyarch game for it.
-
Please. Extinction is just a slightly different form of Zombies that failed, survival is a lackluster horde mode, and Zombies itself, the only good thing CoD has done, got old after Der Riese (possibly Ascension if you're very kind). The single players are just rehashed cliches of movies and other shooters. Multiplayer has been exactly the same (besides sliding!!! and Dogs!!!! >sarcasm) since MW4 and got stale after that. It's very unimpressive, especially compared to gems like Battefield, Destiny, Halo, and Titanfall (the first 5 times you play it). CoD is a cash cow slowing dying of Mad Cow's Disease (because zombie reference). I, and any other semi intelligent person above the age of 12, have been over it for quite some time.

They should go back to WW2 this new technology stuff is boring
-
Its what the community wants
-
Exactly, like it went to far after BO2. I only buy them cause my friends play them.
-
Same, any games with friends are good.
-
What games? Destiny, Halo, Battlefield, CoD, Titanfall... They're all completely different games.
-
I hope this is sarcasm.

CoD - arcade FPS with fast TTK and a variety of different guns, terribly balanced and populated by the people right below terrorists on the tier of awfulness. Medium numbers of people in game. Battlefield - authentic FPS with a slower, but still fast TTK. Balanced. Variety of weapons. Largest number of people in game. Authentic games and arcade games are VERY different by nature. Authentic ones work on the making the game more real without compromising on the fun and making it into a sim. Arcade... Well arcade is basically CoD. Halo - slowest TTK (overshields), normalized weapon set (each weapon is its own type, lesser weapons overall). Low number of people in game. Titanfall - arcade FPS with free running mechanics and mecha, middle of the line TTK and normalized weapon set. Middle number of players in a game. Destiny - slower TTK, has mechanics like double jump, supers, and whatnot, has a variety of weapons of each type. Lowest number of players in a game. Each game has some similar characteristics, but each one is distinct and could not be confused with each other. Things like whether there are weapon types (with several weapons within each type) exist and how many players are in it and what the mechanics besides guns are make a huge difference. In addition, these all (besides CoD and BF some of the time) take place in different contexts. No sarcasm. Just common sense and experience with (unfortunately, in CoD's case) all of the games.
-
I feel you. CoD is nothing like other shooters, if anything though, other shooters follow CoD too much.
-
I don't get what you mean. You just contradicted yourself. I just trashed CoD - if it was a good game, it's followers wouldn't be leaving in drones and polluting the other 4 games I mentioned with their ilk.
-
This. Battlefield is leagues ahead as a fps
-
They're in different evolutions. Battlefield is not ahead because it isn't in the same style as CoD. Of course, its style is - much - better.
