Ok so I'd like to start with a big fat -SPOILER- warning. But on to my question. I read the first book in the Kilo 5 trilogy, and then was too eager to find out the information without reading the books, so I looked the rest up. One, as I understand it Rookie dies, but the exact circumstance leading to his death is unclear, and was wondering if you could clarify on that? Second this trilogy sheds a pretty dark light on ONI. I know for a fact that they were assisting sangheili extremists, and even mention the possibility of attempting an assassination on Lord Hood. Are these things true, and aren't they indirectly responsible for Jul'Mdama coming to power?

He was captured and held hostage in an effort to get the rest of Alpha-9 to surrender. When Mickey made a move to save the Rookie, he hesitated, and the Rookie was shot in the head.
