Nice that sounds pretty sweet. I've got a Red Foot Tortoise so I know how you feel with the lifespan thing. Mine is in a 4x2x2 currently with a lot of plant life.
He is only about a year old now though.

I went with hair grass poss and Anubis in my tank was great keeping oh lvl intact yet they just keep eating them so I gave up after a few years
