One more question. There may not even be an answer to this one. Hypothetically, could Serina from Halo Wars turn herself "off," thereby preventing her aging until she was needed? I just desperately want her in the next Halo Wars story.

I honestly don't know. Theoretically she could, but the situation she is in would make it so she would be putting the crew in danger.

Hmm, so you don't recall something like this being addressed? I definitely couldn't, though, since it's never actively been done, I doubt they can just shut themselves off.

Wait, now I do. Halo: Contact Harvest confirms that AIs can temporarily power down to prolong their existence before rampancy. It is not a common practice.
