This map is completely one sided. For regular crucible it's completely fine, but for trials it is absolutely ridiculous. On the one hand you spawn with the high ground and heavy ammo at your feet. And on the other hand you spawn in the low ground with nowhere to run because the opposing team spawns watching your every move with their ice breakers. The last two trials maps were very fair and greatly enjoyable. Widows Court is a complete disappointment.

To many sweaty tryhards in toO now, not even fun.

Terrible map for trials by bungie. For a weekend challenge based around teamwork and strategy, all this map offers is glitches and too large a battlefield. Worst of all, it encourages teams to sit back and be passive and fearful. So I do agree with you. No matter what anyone rips on you for saying, your complaints have merit. Terrible 3 v 3 map, keep in clash and control. My group passed this week the moment we saw the map cuz we knew it wasn't meant for trials.

Same thing happened with "The Burning Shrines." I kept hearing people say that the sun spawn was the best but I always disagreed. Being spawned inside meant having high ground. High ground is and always been the bee knees for great victories. But spawning on low ground does not mean you are completely screwed. You have two choices. Play reserved and approach slowly while staying low and behind cover. Always be aware of line of sight. (You can do this without being a camper as well) Or attack quickly. Instead of using grenades to kill, use them as location beacons. (Arc bolts, firebolts, axiom bolts, scatter grenades, etc..) by doing this you can see where an enemy is without having to remove yourself from cover. It also breaks shields and helps you when you are approaching aggressively.

I'm not going to stop trying, but I have a feeling I'm just not going to get anything for this weekend's Osiris lol I hate this stupid map so bad.

The map is fine, the spawn points are the issue here. Having 2 spawn points in every ToO match just limits the options and either makes it extremely difficult or super easy for one of the teams. The spawn point high up nearest to the heavy is the most favoured, but it still is possible for the guys down below to win. You just have to improvise and avoid being "predictable".

The guy who started this thread is a scrub! Hands down.....there is no arguing with weak players who don't know what they're talking about. This map is sick for Trials! #YourBad #GoBackToBorderlands
-
GID GUD SCRUB. Good players win from any side
-
Lol really? Idk I think both spawns are good.
-
Haha the bottom spawn is far superior for all rounds
-
The heavy on one side is insane. I played like, 4 games and got spawned on the church side. Then on the fifth we were on the upper side... And both heavy were like, not even 20 feet apart from each other lol! Nice level design Bungle!

Why are you saying it sucks its a good map
-
Great map but not for ToO

Edited by yDreamseller: 6/7/2015 1:16:48 PMIf you're good enough it shouldn't matter what side your on.... Each side can be played differently, if you spawn low you can sit in the tower to the left and control the map easily, you can see almost all the map from one spot. It makes no difference at all what side you have if you understand strategy. Symmetrical maps are always fair when it comes to trials but its nice to mix it up with maps that are asymmetrical and can encourage different play styles. The only complaints I would have with trials are the last round snipers (mainly efrideets), the fact its now impossible to roll a final round sniper makes it even more unfair on players that don't have one. A sniper that can 1 hit kill in a 3v3 revive only gametype can massively change the game, especially with lower tier of players. But again, if you're good enough doesn't matter what the enemy use you can counter it. Also the reward system is flawed, I've been to the Lighthouse 9 times already and I've gotten, 4 x Handcannon, 3 x Auto Rifle and 2 x Scout Rifle and have yet to have a helmet drop... But people I play with have had multiple Eye of Sol drops, the Shotgun, many helmets and exotics drop from chests and reward packages, isn't so much a complaint just frustrating.

Master blink or avoid sight lines and get to high ground as well to level the playing field. You choose to handicap yourself. Just think about things and play smart. Trials is meant to test your different strategies and how you react to different situations to see if you can adapt to overcome.

Edited by Dr Valorous: 6/7/2015 8:26:51 AMThis was my favorite map of the the 3 played so far. Went 9-0 easy dominating BOTH sides of the map. You just have to know where to hold and communicate with your team. Simple as that with any map.

Edited by Willdahbeest: 6/6/2015 11:22:31 PMThe bottom is just as good. I don't understand why people are so scared to push. Game plan spawning top: You have the high ground. Snipe. Game plan spawning bottom: Push forward. They're sniping. This is without mentioning that bottom spawn is basically given the control point
-
You're kidding me? I LOVE the bottom spawn. You can run left and snipe them off heavy ammo every time lol. The capture point is closer to the right if you spawn down there too. If the opposite team wants to camp or snipe them let them do it. Just jump into building at right and make them come to you! It's so easy to snipe up at them or rush out for the capture man -.-
-
There is plenty of cover to avoid snipers from the top or the bottom.... You can't just run out in the open with a target on your head and expect not to get sniped. If you can't do that just hold back in one of the buildings. Teams are very impatient and they will come looking for you
-
I feel like for trials you need to play early while everyone else learns the map. I you play later and against veterans your learning curve is quite steep.
-
Who the hell uses a ice breaker in trials? Anyone catch that?
-
i think the map is fine for crucible but they need to flip the way you spawn. one side gets all the buildings and cover, with an open space to retreat to if needed, meanwhile the other side gets no cover at all. they need to make it to where the spawns are flipped from north and south, to east and west.
-
It really is terrible!!! Lol
-
Nope. The 'bad' side has a perfect place to snipe.
-
Or you could go right. Then go middle from there. Bring some shotties and ruin their day.
-
I completely disagree. I just went 9-0 with most of the time spawning down below where you claim people have the disadvantage. Learn your map, adapt to people's builds, and get better
-
I think spawns should rotate every round
