I'm pretty sure they already plan on making Destiny 2 current gen only, since it isn't coming out for a couple years and by then the next consoles will start being rumored about.

Yes, the "comet", has been renamed to "the taken king", and It will be an entire new disc, but it is a massive expansion and not a new title.

They renamed it to "The Taken King" and will be discussed at E3 this year.
