I'm not here to explain the logic... It was dumb.
Auto's were in a good place before the nerf. I'm just saying PVE players have to stop blaming crucible weapon balance for Auto's being terrible right now.
Crucible balance had little to do with it. Plain and simple.

Mate, SUROS was king before the nerf. It was the most used weapon. It was basically where Thorn is now. Be honest with yourself, it was crucible which caused the nerf. I've nothing against crucible players, I pretty much split my playtime 50/50 between PvE and PvP but pretty much every nerf has been the cause of PvP. But, they did make pulse rifles a load of fun so there's a bonus.

Are you aware that Auto's have nerfed twice? The first time was - like the current Thorn- because there was no point to use anything else. They out ranged scouts and pulse rifles, and had very good stability with good perks, and very low TTK's. They got balanced to a point where they functioned exactly as expected. Everyone was happy, and no one complained about AR's. They then got nerfed again due to their crazy overuse in this game. Mostly due to their overuse in PVE. This happened. Sorry pal. Look it up. This nerf rendered them useless. Ipso/facto, crucible balance made the weapon perfectly balanced. And then the PVE only crowd caused Bungie to ruin this weapon type for everyone. The PVE crowd then proceeds to blame crucible balance. This is not opinion, this is not conjecture, these are the facts.
