From my previous post, a poll about who you want to know about, the vex were victorious. The next time i have more time like i do today ill be sure to post an updated poll with the same question. For more direct Questions or if you have theories of your own come join The Collective of Knowlege must be opened in browser
Here's what we know based on gameplay
The Vex use Warp Gates to travel across the universe and time.
This clearly means that at some point they chose to travel to our solar system and build the Warp Gates, that or someone else put them there.
The Vex are controlled by a single, or many, minds.
The Vex are made of an unknown alloy, but are also made of some sort of organic material.
This could mean that they are either a genius invention taking advantage of future technology, or that they were once organic and are now converted.
They inhabit Venus and Mars, hold the Buried City and The Citadel.
They transformed the planet Mercury into a machine(correct me if I'm wrong here) and have full control over it. hopefully more than the cabal had control over Mars
If you have any more information derived directly from gameplay, no speculation or grimoire, please tell me and I'll edit
The Programming
The Fallen have houses, the Vex have programming.
Aphix Invasive
Descendants
Hezen Corrective
Precursors
I am unsure if these are actually Vex, I personally believe they may be entirely different.
Sol Divisive
Sol Primeval
Sol Progeny
Virgo Prohibition
Of these programmings there are bosses that follow, and bosses that don't. I feel the ones that don't are the truly important ones:
Atheon, Times Conflux
Sekiron, Nexus Mind
Zydron, Gate Lord
The most important here would be Atheon, some people believe that he does not follow the given orders from whoever it is controlling the Vex.
The above information can be found from the destiny wikia page
From the Grimoire
Ghost Fragment Exo mentions the Vex. It states how the exo are human if the human are human, if the humans are machines then so are the exo.
My friend, you should meet the Vex. There is nothing human in them
The Exo are not a machine because they have ideals such as humanity, compassion, etc.. The Vex however only exist to destroy and conquer.
.
The Pocket Infinity Grimoire Talks about Fireteam Tuyet, they died hunting secrets of the Vex. It was not a total loss though because those secrets helped create the Pocket Infinity. It is also said that the weapon may draw energy from the Vex networks itself.
.
The Vex may be the reason we have spirit bloom.
.
Ever see that vidoc involving Crow? He's still here. In the Queens brother Ghost Fragment he commands a physical crow, he orders it to keep a watch on the entrance to the black garden.
The heart is growing stronger the crow said The Vex transformation has begun, and the Progeny are stirring.
The Progeny programming are the Minotaurs that we fight in the Black Garden, but could there be more?
.
The initial Vex Card reads
The Vex are architects of ancient and complex structures thought to be buried within every celestial body. Linked by a network unlike any on Earth, they operate in unison, directed by a single unfathomable purpose.
This fights for the Vex came LONG before we even existed, could they actually be that old?
.
The Hezen Corrective spends most of their time fighting off the Fallen House of Winter. Some believe they are trying to change the world around them to better fix the needs of the Vex, others believe they are trying to distract us from the actions of the Hezen Protective.
.
The Hezen Protective is found mostly around the Vault of Glass and the Endless Steps, they guard the massive Vex gate there. This is presumed to either be the middle of a massive project the Vex are working on or if they are reacting to an event that has yet to even occur.
.
The Virgo Prohibition relentlessly attack the Cabal in the Exclusion Zone. They send in wave after wave not noticing death, and in the short run it seems they will lose. The grimoire suggests the following:
They are trying to draw out the Cabals true power.
They are trying to distract the Cabal, possible from the black garden?
They are an algorithm and they just aren't in the right environment, this failure can cause the Vex network to adapt and improve.
.
The Sol Divisive these Vex are possibly the most terrifying. These Vex are the ones found in the Black Garden, worshipping the Black Heart.
Why would such a hyperintelligent time-spanning thought mesh exhibit religious behavior? The answer seems as obvious as it is chilling: if the Vex found worship and devotion more effective than any other behavior, they would adopt worship. Whatever the Vex found - or made - in the Garden, it transcends even their power.
.
The Sol Primeval are the ancient Vex found in areas like the Vault of Glass. Ghosts report their castings are built long before the age of humanity. It is possible, but i think unlikely, that these created the we see.
.
The Sol imminent are also found in the Vault. These however were found to be from our future, a possible future. If these Vex are from our future is our fight pointless?
.
Ghost Fragment Vex: From the records of the ishtar Collective, Details the scanned thoughts of a captive vex, it was predicting the future. It was predicting exactly what happened in the Grimoire. Esi reports to Sundaresh about how the vex is simulating itself being captured, and how Esi has reported to Sundaresh that it was doing so. In the Vex mind Sundaresh called a meeting. Without knowing, so did the real life Sundaresh.
this is horrifying.
.
Ghost Fragment Vex 2: From the records of the ishtar Collective, the meeting has been called. Shim Duan-McNiadh(MD), Esi, and Sundaresh are discussing the problem at hand. The Vex is playing god. It controls the universe. It controls, them. This Vex can have created multiple realities within itself, and only one of them is real. An infinite number of realities of yourself existing, and the Vex has the power to torture you. What are the chances you're the real one.
this just got worse.
.
Ghost Fragment Vex 3: From the records of the Ishtar Collective, They are real, they aren't real. There's no way to tell. If they aren't real they have nothing to worry about, they were created inside a bubble of the Vex's mind. If they are real, they need to get out of that bubble. There's only one way to get out. They need to bring in something smarter than a Vex, something a Vex can't predict. They needed a Warmind.
.
The Zydron Gate Lord card states that the gate lords exist within the Vex networks, regulating traffic between the gates. Their minds are presumed to contain the codes of all possible realities and times. If that's true, could there be a code that brings us back to before the collapse?
before the traveler?
.
The Vex axis Minds are the individual Vex that hold the information required to pursue a particular objective. This means taking out an axis mind you're stopping, or at least slowing down the objective it gave.
.
Sol Progeny: To Commander Zavala- My thoughts on Recent events(the black heart mission) To make this short.
The Vex found something they absolutely couldn't understand. sadly this completely wrecks my top theory They found that the best possible way to go about this was to worship it and recreate themselves in its image. They created the Gate Lord bodies for it to protect itself and became a part of the Black Heart. When the Black Heart was angered it attacked, this proves that we could hurt it, and only was able to use one Gate Lord at a time, this shows it was still limited in power. This encourages a part of my theory The worst though is that clearly the Black Heart acted through the Vex just as the Traveler acts through us. another theory of mine There could be more.
.
The Gorgons have the ability to say you don't exist, luckily only in the Vault.
.
The templar is the device that smooths out the wrinkles in the Vex's plans for the future. This is dictated by the Oracles.
.
Atheon, Times Conflux: Atheon oversees the Conflux system. Not much is known about what they are exactly. It's presumed that the Vex use it to move their thoughts directly into the fundament of the universe.
If physics is a set of rules that the cosmos uses to calculate itself, perhaps the Vex seek to worm their way into these calculations: to become a law of reality, inseparable from existence. A virus in the system. Perhaps Atheon was the centerpiece of this project, a command nexus that unified efforts across time.
.
Mercury:
Legends say that Mercury was once a garden world. Now its surface, baked in the Sun's glare, is honeycombed with forgotten Vex structures. No life stirs here. Not anymore.
.
Relic The Aegis: Kabr gives us our only hope to defeat Atheon. He gave up his light, but not his life to do so.
Now it is done. If i speak again, I am not Kabr
This really says, to me atleast, that Kabr isn't dead. But more on that in another post.
.
And right on time too. As I said previously about my theories, I believed the Vex brought the Darkness over from a parallel world. If you've seen or liked that comment or post that i said that in, please for now at least, disregard it. I feel now more than ever i am incorrect.
Everyone please enjoy this and I'll edit this with any theories based on the information above!

You know, I read this and had a single thought:
WE'RE ALL DOOMED! THE VEX ARE GOING TO KILL US ALL!
Wait. One second: If the Vex were going to destroy us, couldn't they already have? Couldn't they have traveled back in time and destroyed the beginning of humanity before it even existed, therefore taking that hope away from the Traveler? But they didn't. So I can draw a single conclusion: THE VEX HAVE ALREADY FAILED. They were thwarted in their plans millennia ago, and yet they still haven't been defeated yet. Why is this? Because the Vex have yet to go back in time. Either they need time to prepare for the massive jump, or they fear the Guardians and the Traveler will follow and destroy them before their plot can succeed. And so we've already defeated the Vex. It is impossible for us not to have. We defeated them before the Traveler even came to us. Isn't that neat?
