*the trio races down the passage ways trying to find the source of the pale light. they turn a corner and see that the corridor opens into a massive room that seems to be empty except for a single source of light in the middle of the room. each stops dead in their tracks, possibly terrified of what they have discovered. finally steak begins to walk toward the strange source, with the rope still connected the other two follow along. the walls seem to vanish as the explorers leave the corridor, instead of a sprawling floor which covers the entire room only a single bridge, barely big enough for the three of them reaches out to the source of light. as they get close the light seems to dim and the source takes the shape of a sphere. the mysterious sphere looks to be a dark greenish, grey despite the light it expels. though the explorers have radiation detectors none of them spike as they approach the magnificent sphere. the three of them stop again three feet from the floating ball of light none of them dare touch it.* "well captain, would you like to do the honors?" *one of the men says in a sarcastic tone. steak shoots him a look that could melt ice, this was no time for humor. though they all needed it. reluctantly steak reached out and touched the sphere, it's surface was cool as ice despite its incredibly high energy reading, but the chill could not be savored. beams of light arc across the chamber and around the explorers. the burst of light made the three stumble backwards and toward the edge. one of the three stepped too close and fell, if not for the rope he wouldn't have had a chance. steak and the other grabbed onto the rope but the man was heavier then they'd expected. each of them slide closer to the edge nearly falling to their doom but the third explorer was able to hold them back. once they recovered they looked around the room, which now showed glyphs across the walls and floating beside the bridge, they almost seemed like buttons. then the ground began to shake, pebbles skipped off the edge an into the dark abyss, the ceiling seemed to crack apart.* "what the hell is happening!?" *one of them yelled over the rumbling. the third man stepped backwards away from one of the controls, not saying a word. he looked in shock as if he had just doomed his very existence in the universe. before steak could confront him the floor around the green sphere began to rise, starting slowly but then picking up speed. steak glanced up at what looked like sunlight then at the rising tower, without saying a word he bolted toward the escalating floor, the other two followed immediately. they jumped onto the pedestal and rose toward the light, steak grabbed the ball and slid it into his pack hoping it would not interfere, which it did not seem to. boulders from the crumbling ceiling fell past them revealing more sunlight, it blinded the explorers as they ascended into the sky. passing through the newly made exit them looked around seeing the lush jungles of the moon... then they cheered.* [spoiler]sorry this is really long.
