It doesn't mention DoT in the perk description. The Destinypedia article mentions that the original perk was supposed to cause poisom damage but was changed before the final product released.

It still does it, melee someone when invisible and it does dot. On top of what it says it does

I wish it had stayed. That would have been a critical defense against Thorn. Maybe that should be a counter measure Bungie could add.
