What games that came out recently, or relatively recently actually SUCCEEDED in living up to the hype that was built up before release?

Gears of war 3, Fall out 3 and new vegas, cod mw2, black ops 1 and 2, super smash, Mario kart, forza horizon 1. Halo 3. games are not like they use to be. Modern age games suck
