[Theory] I Am Convinced Dredgen Yor Was a Hunter

I am not a Bungie employee. What I am saying in this thread is just a theory. Not your typical thread on Thorn in here, but stick with me. Now, some of you may be thinking, "Yeah, that's obvious, Charlemagne." Well, not really. It's been quite the debate between lore-mongers, like myself, whether he was a Warlock or a Hunter. People said Warlock since his Grimoire card is that of a Warlock with Thorn, because the other two Guardians who studied the Darkness were Warlocks, and because the cloak in the game doesn't actually say it was his. It could just be based off his gear or cut from a Warlock's robes. However, I am convinced he was a Hunter. The reasons being are: 1. The cloak despite what I said before; 2. His whole persona reading that of a Hunter who roams the Frontier. His Grimoire passages and the ones he's included in talk of his hand cannon, a common weapon of a Hunter, and of other Hunters he was always around; 3. Unlike the Warlocks who mostly studied the Darkness, Yor actually took a more active approach to it and let it consume him. He wasn't studying it to understand it, but rather letting it fill him so he could have its power. Perhaps that's how he thought he could understand it. Maybe he hoped to control it and hold it at bay, like a martyr finding a way to defeat the enemy and using their own being as a catalyst for that test. What he was before though he was not after; 4. The biggest point, and, honestly, the one I literally just realised, is Thorn. Sure, it's a hand cannon which are most typically alined with Hunters, but that doesn't mean other classes can't use them. No, it was something on Thorn that I stupidly missed for too long. The sights. Well, just below them. The above image is not me showing the thorns the gun fires, but the triangle. Some of you may recognise it, but it's an older symbol from before Destiny release. It's the original symbol of the Hunters, as still seen here. https://www.bungie.net/img/profile/avatars/group/avatars_groups_hunter.jpg Thoughts? Hunter or Warlock? Edit: I am aware of the symbol being on Bad Juju, but I think that could just be because it shares a similar curse. It's possible that that symbol became symbol for a curse of Darkness after Yor succumbed. It's still a Hunter symbol though. Edit 2: Just to add fuel to the fire, I also don't think he was Jaren Ward. Edit 3: I'm starting to believe the Ward-Yor theory...but at the same time, I can't yet. There still missing facts that we need.

 • I think Yor is from the same place as both Shin Malphur and Jaren Ward (it's thought that the guy in charge of palamon was a relation to Ward, hence palamon may have been his birthplace) and therefore Yor has known Ward a long time. I do not think they are the same person, as the cards very much seem to imply they are stalking Yor to kill him in revenge for burning Palamon to the ground, and Ward goes out to confront him alone to prevent any of the 'kids' being injured and in the process is outgunned by Thorn Jarens ghost and Last Word are found/ inherited by Shin, who then goes on to continue the hunt, finally killing Yor in Dwindlers(name ?) ridge.
