Just booted up a Titan, and while he's a low level it's kinda fun to play as a CQB brute. Do you guys suggest I go Defender? Or Striker? And what gear do you guys deck yourselves out with?
Just got the Armamentarium, Crest of Alpha Lupi, and Saint helm.
Saint-14, armamentarium and ruin wings are all great choices for the exotic slot. I've mostly done pve, so this is my take on the titan as far as that side is concerned; Defender You can set up defender perks to produce a lot of orbs both from ward of dawn taking damage and from your heavy weapon kills. Armour of light is great for taking on hordes of targets, but weapons of light is generally better during boss fights - especially when paired with snipers or MGs. It's important to communicate when & where you pop the bubble, and what loadout you & your team will need. Placing the bubble somewhere that blocks enemy fire, yet allows firing lines for your team can also be tricky. Mag grenades can be lobbed over hydra shields, and are my favorite defender grenade for single-target damage. Suppression grenades shut down the abilities of tough/annoying enemies. I tend to leave the melee for when health gets low. It can usually one-shot the weaker enemies, and combined with the continuous regen perk it really helps when things are not going in the team's favour and you have to bail out or res people. Striker Both arc and lightning grenades are great for area-denial and battlefield control. You can clear tons of mobs when arc burn is on. Both of those grenades detonate on contact, however. I can't comment on flashbangs in pve, but I hear they're quite fun in pvp. The aoe perk on storm fist is very useful for when you get surrounded by melee attackers, as it will push back and stagger those that survive. Fist of havoc is a little more risky to use in pve, but with the shockwave perk or the lingering aoe effect it can deal a lot of damage and generate a decent amount of orbs. Get yourself the helm of inmost light if you find you're really partial to using foh. That's my two cents... Hopefully you find something useful in all of that text. Good luck to you with your titan, sir!
