Reforge Ascended Weapons
Additional Information:
Reforging a weapon that you have previously Ascended will remove the applied Etheric Light. The Etheric Light in question will not be returned to your Inventory and Ascension will be removed.
My Opinion:
Once etheric light is used to ascend a weapon, it should not be lost when reforging along with typical perk upgrades. Etheric Light is conceptually giving a weapon a tier upgrade, not a perk upgrade. Reforging is about perks and should consequently only reset perk upgrades, not damage value tier reset.
There must be an internal discussion on why the Etheric Light would be lost, I just can't think of it. Bungie, can you elaborate or discuss?

1 ReplyFunny thing is that none of this matters much any more since next week is year 2 all legendaries are being left behind. I don't like this at all, but it kinda makes this a moot discussion.

This bothered me greatly didn't notice it until it was too late. Thankfully I had several lights but now I don't level anything until it's perfect

It's ridiculous! Bungie should fix this. You do high level raids and bounties to get this stuff. Then you Use and and decide you want to reforge and its Magically gone? Absolute bull! Fix the please

I agree 100% ascending dmg is not a perk and should therefore not be lost. Bungie needs to put the dmg back or in you inventory.
