[b][u]Epilogue[/u][/b] The exo smith gently set the damaged heavy machine gun down on his work bench. Banshee-44 treated the weapon with great care and respect, something 'Vice appreciated after being carelessly discarded by the patrol that had found Pahanin. "I should be able to repair your critical systems, even your barrel rotation" Banshee said to 'Vice. "However, I think that..." the exo pulled back the weapon's charging handle and examined 'Vice's firing mechanism. "Yea, that's what I thought" he continued, "I don't have the means to repair your Golden-Age mag feed, but I know a guy who can provide a replacement unit." "Thank you" 'Vice replied quietly. "Its no problem" Banshee said back before setting to work on the weapon's damaged portions. 'Vice didn't feel like talking much, but the gunsmith didn't seem to mind. He worked diligently to restore the weapon to its former glory. After a few minutes, 'Vice asked "what can you tell me about the guardian who brought me back?" "Well" responded Banshee, "that guardian is still rather new" "Goody" scoffed 'Vice. Banshee made a minor calibration to the feed mechanism before reseating it in the weapon's receiver. "However" he continued, "that same guardian is showing quite a lot of promise." The weapon scoffed again. "No one can replace Pahanin" Banshee said solemnly. "He was a legend. He survived the Vault, and your remarkable systems here are a testament to his ingenuity." Satisfied with his work, Banshee applied some oil to 'Vice's operating mechanism. "And he was a good man" Banshee added. "Yes he was" agreed 'Vice. The exo smith worked the weapon's action, a final check of his work. "But that guardian out there has just as much potential. If you can, I think you should give it a chance." At first, the weapon said nothing. "Pahanin wouldn't have wanted me to give up the fight." 'Vice admitted with a sigh. "We'll see." The exo nodded and said "well your all set. Come on, lets get you back out there." With that Banshee lifted the heavy weapon off the work bench and carried it back out to the waiting guardian.
