You have been challenged, guardian, in the ways of old. This riddle is designed to throw you off. Will you stray from the path, or stay true to your goal?
Who/What am I?
How many times have I been wiped?.. You will dream of teeth, and nothing else. I link together to control destruction, to create and channel the indirect non-creation. Once I am confronted, it will turn. Its own kind has made me instruments of its torture. It is not I that threaten you, but it is my absence that will surely provoke. But at the very least, I am here. Yes, surely, you have sealed yourself in its liberation. And when the wholly battle cry is uttered, your master will solemnly nod, for I have exacted its doom.
Phogoth's Chains
Explanation:
"You will...nothing else." -Line from the description of Voidfang Vestments, but meant to mean Hellmouth, on account of the despairing tone and the hellish imagery put forth in its communication.
"I link to together...non-creation." -A possible misdirect to the Arcbolt Grenade, but actually means the links of a chain.
"Once I am confronted, it will turn" -If you get close to Phogoth, the chains break and he turns towards you.
"Own kind...torture" -The Hive chained him up, but could be Variks, yes?
"It is not I...surely provoke" -Chains=you're good, chains break=f**king run away from the eye blast.
"Sealed yourself in its liberation." -Once he's free, you're screwed.
"Wholly battle cry." -Play-on words of holy battle cry, alluding in a literal sense to the Summoning Pits's name.
"Master will nod." -"The Vanguard will be grateful." -Dinklebot
"I have exacted its doom." -The chains kept him in place while guardians would shoot at him.
"Lunar Mist" -Lunar refers to the moon, limiting options off the get-go and sets people on the right track only to be thrown off during the riddle by the mist.
Thought I had it with thrall exploder it all fits if you think about it, the lunar mist when it goes off, linking together to control destruction, once confronted It will turn, absence will provoke, sealing yourself in the liberation of the "lunar mist", and when the battlecry is wholly uttered your master will nod, close no?

Edited by Darkoverlord99: 6/13/2015 8:31:13 PMMaybe the sword/swordbearer from crota's end? If you confront him/it, it turns into an instrument of torture for the hive? EDIT: Maybe the confluxes, they're all linked and indirectly destroy you if they're gone...

The guardian you're playing as?
