I'm not against optimal matchmaking but for whatever reason, and I'm not speculating, Bungie takes a good bit of time to issue updates. Before tackling the financial and logistical burden of implementing servers for MM, they could instead implement dedicated servers. You guys say that you can't access content? There are literally people who's connection can't be matched with other players under the current peer to peer network(which basically just connects players to other players consoles: hence the animal codes).
Hundreds of people are having a terrible time with crucible due to the pervasive lag caused by connecting players in such a random fashion. With no dedicated servers, scripts like "punk buster"(BF4) can't be ran server side to manage lag switchers and cheaters. Everyone of these issues hold just as much weight with the community and need to be addressed.
If you experience horrid lag in PVP?= deal with it
If you can't even connect or experience repeated disconnects? = deal with it
If you don't understand crucible because you are pumping entire clips into a red bar player? = get gud scrub
If your 9-0 streak is ruined by a DDOS attack? = stay out of trials.
Having issues tackling end game content? = make friends and join the community, help others with content.
For me, it's an issue of priority. And it's clear what that priority should be. Why is it not the concern of half of vocal minority? Because most people have no idea what "matchmaking" is. Immediately after these game destroying issues are handled, I will be right by your side about matchmaking, even though based on my own experience, clans and statics are more successful and more enjoyable.
