Well alpha lupi is always referred to as a wolf, and they travel in packs. The grimoire cards also reference the dreams of alpha lupi, and in dreams, you eyes aren't your own, so it makes more near than you seem to be giving it credit for.

I never focused on Alpha Lupi in the lore. Now at the moment it seems Oryx would be an important target to learn about in the lore.
