A lot of snipers also scout their sniper spots on each map and know approximately where the enemy's head will be, when he turns a corner/ pops out of cover. So they basically just have to pull the trigger

Was gonna mention pre-aligning for headshots, good point. Did this on pantheon during trials. If you're getting sniped a lot, consider the grade (slope) of the map. Flat maps make it easy to get headshots because you can remove vertical aiming from the equation. Try to get into position first. If you can't, that's what grenades are for.
