Post some riddles and people have to guess them - quite easy.
Rules:
- they have to have a logical and comprehensible solution
- no shitposting (I'd at least appreciate a minimum)
- attempts at an answer have to be put in a spoiler
- solutions (by the riddle author and any else) have to be marked as such and put in a spoiler
Let's start with a simple one:
Suppose you had 8 billiard balls, and one of them was slightly heavier, but the only way to tell was by putting it on a scale against another. You can use the scale only two times to find the heavier ball. How do you do it?

There's a river you need to cross - with you are a wolf, a sheep and a cabbage. If you leave the wolf alone with the sheep, the wolf will eat it. If you leave the sheep alone with the cabbage the sheep will eat it. The boat you can use to cross the river with only can carry you and one item at a time. You yourself and all items have to cross the river unharmed.

Edited by TideFan: 6/16/2015 4:03:00 PMThere is a Green Room, some things can get in, others can't. You may ask me questions about what can get in and what can't. If you think you have the answer, put it in a spoiler HINT: A wall can get in, but a house can't A roof can get in, but a ceiling can't Grass can get in, but plants can't

1. I have a bed, but do not sleep. A mouth, but do not eat. What am I? 2. A man lives on the top story of a sky scraper. He takes the elevator down to work every morning. When he gets back, he takes the stairs, why?

Edited by Jim SWAT 01: 6/16/2015 6:42:11 PMSolution to OP's (Atticus) riddle:
You put 3 balls on each side, and leave 2 balls out. If the sides are of even weight, you take the 2 balls left out and weigh them against each other to find the heavier ball. If they are of uneven weight, you take 2 balls from the heavier side and weight them against each other. If the sides are uneven, you have found the heavier ball. If the 2 balls are of even weight, the ball you left out is the heavier ball.
I just picked up "The Riddle of Scheherazade and Other" so I have lots of riddles. I got it from my local library :D It's especially useful for anyone looking to get into computer science. Here's a paraphrasing of #20 "What Color?" Three boys visit a farmer and the farmer says there's a mule out back and it's either brown, black, or gray. Each of the boys throws in a guess and the farmer says "at least one of you is right and at least one of you is wrong." Boy #1 guesses that the mule isn't black Boy #2 guesses that the mule is either brown or gray Boy #3 guesses that the mule is brown So what color is the mule?

Thought of another one ( it's a little stupid ): Everyone is me, who am I?

I get wetter as I dry.

That's easy. I put 4 balls on each side. Now I've found the heavier ball among three others. I then take two random balls and rely on my scoundrels luck, place them on the scale and tah-dah, found your ball.
