I never played Fallout, but I've been reading its history.

And I've got to say, it sounds really cool. I always thought the idea of a complete nuclear war was cool, but I never realized it was already a game series. So, assuming you've played the games, where would you suggest I start? I really want to try them.

  • If you have a 360 or PS3 I really recommend getting 3 or new Vegas. They are both pretty cheap now, I got my second copy for $3.50 on the Xbox store so it's not really a chunk of money. You just have to understand it's slow paced.

    • Start with Fallout 3 or New Vegas. The older games were on PC, and they are pretty dang out. If you want to understand why Fallout is such a hyped up series by most people, play the new games. They're be the closest to what you can expect from Fallout 4.

    • If you can stand the gameplay, at least 3. Warning, though, it's not a real first person shooter, and focuses on use of VATS, an automatic targeting system. (don't remember its gameplay well beyond that) If you don't think you could deal with that gameplay, go with New Vegas, the complete edition of which being $9. It still has VATS, but it's completely unnecessary, unlike 3. I never use it. Never played the turn-based 1 & 2, though.
