Pre-order cancelled.
I'm unfortunately going to have to cancel my pre-order for The Taken King. I can not condone these types of business practices from such an esteemed company.
This is just as bad as having to buy the same game 2-3 times from different stores to unlock all the exclusive real life vendor dlc. I have to buy the game a second time so I can have a cool sparrow that I'll barely be able to see due to my character obscuring it, an exotic class armor piece that increases xp that I'll never be able to use because I need to rank up my factions, and emblems? How can you give out emblems to players? It was bad enough when you gave out emblems to people for being on bungie.net for way too long, now you give it out exclusively to new players and only give us some measly loyalty emblem?
I can't tolerate this any longer, I'm going to have to go play TESO instead where I can buy a horse for 25 dollars.

3 RepliesWhat burns me is I just got emailed to pre order the collectors edition at midnight. Checked my email at maybe an hour after that and it was "Not Available" Then I looked at prices. If you get the digital minus the hard copy goods it's still the same price. WTF...

I'm deciding if I should get it or not. To start off why make ANOTHER -blam!-ing dlc having crab people (-blam!-ing hive) when we already have dark below (wasn't even fun) all bungie did was make a sub par story about the crab people and re-skinned previous mobs and called them taken. Worth 40$ maybe for sub class. Other wise than that I'll be rubbing my balls all over poe till then

6 RepliesAside from the OP, has anybody on here actually seen the ViDoc for TTK? They showed a glimpse of all the new stuff and they have listened from what it seems... Obviously they learned with HOW, but there was only so much they could do with so little time Activision gave them to make these DLC's. Have some faith and don't just expect a new franchise to be the greatest thing ever the first year it comes out.

1 ReplyI'm sorry to have to announce that I too have to cancel my pre order. I just can't bring myself to give a publisher money when all they've done is employ hundreds of developers, designers, accountants, marketing folk, programmers and office workers to create a game DLC which almost every other major publisher also release at similar costs. How can this possibly be legal, it's almost like this businesses are allowed to conduct business. It's about time we started getting everything for free. I'm sure the people working at bungie can get a second job in order for it to happen. I'm glad I get my money back, I can use it to buy oh I dunno, a crate of beer instead

I agree. Bugie/Activision DLC model for Destiny is not something I want to support. While I don't regret buying Destiny, I do regret buying TDB and will not be buying TK or anything else for Destiny. I refuse to support this DLC model and hope enough of the player base do the same so Bungie, Activision and other game developers will get the message and avoid similar greedy moves.
