I'm pretty sure this is bullshit... They may have kicked him but if it was to bring in a friend then they are dumb as -blam!-.
The good stuff from the 35 drops off of the Skolas kill... The treasure room is mediocre at best. Also you can kill yourselves to get people into poe in the late stages, but I'm pretty sure you can't do it in the treasure room? So yeah... Either this story is all lies, or the idiots who kicked your brother are incredibly stupid.

*sigh* Why the hell would I make this story up? He got kicked right after Skolas died, so he didn't even get the drops.

Why would they kick him when it's too late to bring in a friend? I don't know why people do stupid things... The drops happen at the exact same time as skolas dies, before the modifiers clear and potentially before you dismantle a single mine. There is no way he killed skolas with them and missed a drop if he was going to get one, it's literally impossible.

Yeah but my point was, they can't bring their friend in and the boy didn't miss out on an elemental primary or a cipher because they don't come from the treasure room. So it's not exactly that bad...

Yeah, I'm just thinking of how a kid would feel when he reached the 35 chest for the first time (which does drop 3 exclusive pieces of gear) and the got booted as he tried to open it.
