You can actually farm sunlight medals from Falconers. The drop rate is quite low, but if you're not getting summoned very often it's probably faster. Falconers are the guys in the red outfits with a curved sword and golden falcon shield. The best place to farm them is at the Shaded Ruins, on the path to the Shrine of Winter. There's 5 there, right next to a bonfire. Brightstone Cove is another good place, there's more in that area but you'll have to aggro them one by one if you don't want to get overwhelmed.
Make sure you wear the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring +2 if possible, Prisoner's Outfit, and Jester's Hat/Mimic head, as well as using rusted coins to maximise your item discovery. Also if you join the Covenant of Champions it'll prevent the Falconers from despawning, allowing you to farm them infinitely.

Edited by Harbinger: 6/17/2015 5:16:28 PMThanks, I had been trying to farm from them and the banediggers, but was mostly unsuccessful. I think I got 1 before they all stopped spawning. Also, do all falconers drop them? Because what I read said it's only the 4 in Things Betwixt on ng+ and up. Edit: So I can confirm the falconers at Ruined Fork do in fact drop sunlight medals. I got 4 in about 30 minutes earlier. Still need 23 more...

Yeah, they're a really rare drop, but time-wise I think the difference in obtaining them through co-op and farming them is negligible. Took me around 3 hours for all 30, but I completely forgot about the Covenant of Champions way to keep them respawning, so it'll probably shave some time off by using that.

I finally did it. It took way longer than I thought it would. The falconers at Ruined Fork stopped dropping anything at all after a while. Had to Move on to the campsite in Tseldora. Took about 5 hours in all I would say.

Good job! 5 hours is a long time. It's strange that they stopped dropping things, never heard of that happening before.

Edited by Harbinger: 6/18/2015 10:47:05 PMYeah it was much more of a hassle than i remember from the 360 version. They weren't even dropping armor. Killed them probably 50 times each with none dropping anything. When I moved to the campsite it picked up significantly. Two of those falconers can be killed from the bonfire with aerial attacks.
