First of all, pre release trailers, E3 demos or anything shown before a game releases is not a "promise" of anything. Every game changes during development, sometimes right up until it has gone gold and been sent off for disc manufacturing. If you are still judging a game based on what you see in pre release trailers and marketing hype, then it's your own fault when you are disappointed.
Second, Bungie actually DID say that they were working on a raid to release later this year, but they did not soecidit what it was or when and they never said anything about it being free.
It's probably safe to assume that the raid they were talking about is the Oryx raid in The Taken King, and that we will not be receiving another raid after that in 2015.

I'm just wondering (going off of what you are saying) why should we trust anything they are putting out right now... The whole "everything is subject to change" still applies here but people are just losing their minds about TTK.

Well, I'm just saying that people should keep their expectations realistic and not buy too much into pre release hype for any game. I'm looking forward to Taken King, and new subclasses, but until the DLC is loaded onto my console, I fully expect things to change between now and then. I'm excited to play games like Halo 5 and Fallout 4 this fall, but I don't plan on watching any more trailers marketing stuff or anything on either game, so that I won't have preconceived notions of what to expect, and I won't be disappointed if they don't "live up to the hype". I've been playing videogames for over 25 years, and in that time I've learned that jumping on hype trains is rarely worth it.
