My Giant Review Including TTK - My Positives and Negatives
The Negatives -
It seems with Destiny the biggest problem is treating returning customers correctly..... At the same time, when I look back at Day1 when I started - I think of all the family and friends I played this game with - a lot of co-workers, my nephew, a handful of friends. Of all those people zero of them still play, and (as far as I know) at least half of those haven't played expansion 2.
When Crota came out, I was pretty butt-hurt myself seeing as how long it took to farm up my level 30 gear just to have it be worthless.... I guess that part isn't so much an issue anymore seeing as how I raised all 3 of my classes to 34 in week 1.
Anyways - forcing someone to re-buy the game we obviously already own shows either that's a really bad turnover (thus making it look like a call of duty, or madden type game), or that the game isn't good enough to enjoy year after year.
I guess on the other hand, if we all eBay the unneeded copies of a game we already have, it'll flood the market with the game, driving down its in-store value.... From a business perspective this is a loss-loss on both ends. I need to get rid of a redundant copy of a game I have, and when I sell it - that's 1 less in-store customer for the game makers.
A better solution would be including some other cheap filler item, like an Oryx t-shirt, or decal, or even XB/PS skin would be pretty cool. I would say an online item store, but that would just turn into ESO real fast.

The positives -
Even though I was right on the front lines of the cry-train with that whole golden gun glitch last week, that mayhem mode does look pretty amazing. It wasn't so much the overwhelming hunter advantage with the 1-shot hand cannon was a bad thing, it just wasn't evenly distributed throughout all the classes. (Maybe the respawn timer should be like absolute zero though? - with nova bombs flying everywhere you'd think the map would empty out real fast)
Finally some new classes :D
Hopefully we can see some new planets such as Saturn/Jupiter? - I would say moving away from the sun would be more interesting seeing as how the darkness should be stronger out there, plus the battles and gravity would be a bit unique due to being gas giants (judging my most Activision titles I see though, this one may be a bit wishful thinking lol)
- This is a positive point from me personally, but probably not overall for the game..... When it comes to RPG type games where you collect stuff, I'm pretty lazy and laid back..... I can basically solo the Crota raid front to back in my sleep - but that's ok, it's also the whole reason I've ran some 6,000 rifts in Diablo... I can get loot while relaxing. As soon as I saw Hive raid version 2.0 in the TTK preview video, I had to get out the cheese sampler platter :D
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some stuff that would be cool to see:
- 95% of the recorded videos people make on XB are of glitches and weird unexpected bugs.... I think it'd be pretty cool to have some kind of sandbox room where nothing real game applies - theres no loot/no bounties/no XP gains etc.
but you can spawn random enemies and items then basically hit the play button.... Spawning 5 Atheons and 15 colossus, then watching them duke it out would be hella epic :D
Or using that new golden gun helmet to pierce though a line of 25 thralls in 1 blast
Goofing around with senseless tasks is why Minecraft is topping the charts :)
---------------------
More functionality with the special orders pickup would eliminate the never ending complaints about vault space - When I keep stuff like Atheon's Epilogue, it's not so much to actually use it - but to keep it in my toolchest because maybe next update it'll have a purpose, much like how the Suros was nerfed out of existence to make room for the Red Death and Thorn...... Perhaps next update scout rifles will be buffed in crucible, so I hold on to my Fang... and so on.
"Unlocking" a weapon then simply picking it up at the special orders would make life much easier, probably on both ends - Bungie's database isn't as loaded with a bunch of unused data, and our vaults are nice and clean. And even if those freshly picked up weapons need to be upgraded - that's not really a big deal, plus it might also drive up the value of materials so people farm more.
