Does anyone one know if we do buy the edition will the data from our old characters will get transferred or not

It's not a new game it's just basically a big dlc

But I thought it said we had to buy a new disc and isn't our data on our old disc

Your data is on Bungies Wonderful servers. That's why you could switch from old to new gens without losing anything.

Wait, does that actually work? If I buy an Xbox One and use my same Xbox live login, my characters are all on my new system?

Yes. You can't play between generations but your data is saved to your live account. If you purchase a One you will have all your stuff on it.

It did when the game first came out (worked as of Christmas), I'd check to see if it's the case before buying now though.
