Not sure where they admitted to any mistake. I heard them say they had all these cool things they wanted to give people and that they intended it to be a cool extra and they seem somewhat surprised by the hate and, sadly, somewhat resigned to it. Personally I think this whole non issue is a bunch of entitled cry babies that never got told no enough in their life. My great grandmother had a colorful phrase for me when I got a bad case of the I wants. Allow me to share it with you. "Want in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up fastest."
