The XP boost won't help you beat everything faster, it will just help level up the amazing new Subclasses. Plus i am more interested in the new emotes, kinda stupid but I love that stuff. In the end it comes down to the fact that there was no option for destiny veterans to easily obtain this content. That's why many are upset.
