Twas the night of my first hard raid completion. The Redbull was ready, the toke had been toked and my friend Troy(Jupa30) was at my house with his own T.V. and PlayStation. We're ready to roll. Hours pass. Glitch after glitch, bug after bug we fight through it all to finally take down Atheon and his utterly confusing arena of portals, time gates and health regenerating minotaurs. As the win draws nearer the excitement stacks ten-fold. One mistake and its all over. Icebreakers out, standing in the "protective" relic shield, precision shot after precision shot Jupa30 and I watch his health shrink until he is shattered into oblivion. We've done it! Finally Atheon is dead. Of course there is only one thing on our minds...the illusive Vex Mythoclast. Milliseconds tick away as if time is frozen. I await in utter joy, fantasizing to see that beautiful golden loot reward pop onto my screen; reassuring me it was all worth the effort. As my ears hear the screams of my friend "[b]YES!!!!! I GOT THE VEX!!!![/b]" my eyes see purple. Even worse my eyes see a ship. For all my hard work I get the Aspect of Glass and the Chatterwhite shader. Pure overwhelming disappointment. After granting a less than friendly congratulations to my friend, I assure myself that the following week, that Vex Mythoclast is [b]MINE[/b].
So here I am today. Months later, much more experience under my belt. I actually consider myself a very skilled guardian. With all of the progress I've made, all of the nightfalls, the new content of the Dark Below, and creating two new guardians to do it all with, I have still never given up on the Vault of Glass and its frustratingly unattainable Vex Mythoclast. This week I received a grimoire card for 50 Vault of Glass completions. I thought to myself "Thats it. People need to know about this, maybe I'm not alone" but I know of nobody first hand who has played destiny as long as I have and has not gotten the Mythoclast. In fact, Not only did Troy(Jupa30) Receive the Vex his first try while he was playing with me but so did his little brother, as did many other's. Also, Jupa30, his little brother and several other friends have received the Mythoclast several times with me in their fireteam. They tease me regularly about this. Bungie is trolling me. Destiny is physiologically bullying my fragile heart. I do not ask bungie to slip a mythoclast into my special orders to make up for my misfortunes. All I ask is to please, look at your algorithms. 50 Vault of Glass Raid completions without a Vex Mythoclast is absurd. In fact, lets do an exercise to add some prospective. All I ask is for you to take an extra minute of your time to count to 50. If you feel to lazy to do so(and I dont blame you) I will help. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10...11...12...13...14...15...16...17...18...19...20...21...22...23...24...25...26...27...28...29...30...31...32...33...34...35...36...37...38...39...40...41...42...43...44...45...46...47...48...49...50. I will be on number 53 before next Tuesday.
