WE DID IT GUYS!! $20!!

Misconception is that the additional content matters. It doesnt. The problem is the communication by Luke Smith to the community. He was arrogant, insulting and embarrassed himself. Yes, there are content issues, dollar issues, but who cares. The main problem is that he communicated poorly in that interview and represented himself and his employer in a very bad light.

he's earning his money! #deej # fightthepower #guardiansforchange

We'll see Thursday
-
Shader is gonna be bad when everyone has it
-
I was going to buy both just because I've had alittle extra money and I want a strange coin

Edited by Photonic Origin : 6/23/2015 12:37:12 PMPeople who insult Luke Smith should swallow their own chodes....Luke Smith is a legend....
-
Even before Luke's unfortunate PR bungle, it did say in the advertising that we were getting more than just sparrow, shader and emblem for the vet package... Whether or not they plan on adding anything else to sweeten the pot on top of what they had planned is anyone's guess
-
I wish everyone would just calm the hell down about all of it. You have no idea what they are doing for the year one players yet. Everyone just needs to relax until we know more. If we find out that the rewards for year one players are garbage, then by all means freak out, but until then calm the hell down.
-
He didn't save anything lmao They're waiting until the update for what? To buy time to throw something together? I highly doubt it'll be something worth more than one of those "buy content you already have" packages.
-
Honestly, I'm already getting The Taken King. I preordered the collectors edition. But it didn't matter what we got. I just want the dlc and hope the raid doesn't blow.
-
I will gladly throw 40 bones down on this game. I would even throw an additional 40 just to get double the vault space. But that's just one man's with three female characters philosophy ;))
-
You people are funny. You get so upset and then you get satisfied for a shader and an emblem. How about for being a loyal customers 50% off the expansion...
-
Deej is, and always will be, a pegboi
-
I hope so. It'd be nice to have superblack. But Revenant is just better due to rarity.
-
I was still going to buy the $40 dlc in the first place. I would be happy with nothing. However a new ghost sounds awesome and I will gladly accept any gifts
-
-
You're willing to pay $40 for things that don't change the game in any way? Lmao. You're paying $40 for what is essentially a few new skins.
-
Nobody knows what we're getting.. Who even cares? Go have sex with a lady and quit wasting your time..
-
Well if you're right i'll definitely be eager to buy TTK
-
We'll see if he saved anything once he actually SAYS what we're getting, and depending on what it is

Edited by The Dark Hadou: 6/23/2015 11:30:28 AMThe description of the veteran package has always been:
As a thank you to our most loyal fans, you will receive a commemorative Founder's Fortune Year 1 Emblem, Sparrow, Armor Shader, and more at launch with your purchase of The Taken King
Now, whatever Deej is planning to reveal in the update could just be what has always been included by the words "and more at launch" but Bungie just didn't want to reveal everything in one go as it'd give them less to talk about between now and the release of TTK (plus it'd ruin any surprises they may have had planned for us year one players). It's only the entitled brats who seem to make up a large percentage of these forums, and who attach far too much value to the time they've spent playing Destiny, that had a tantrum over new players getting "better" rewards than them when, in reality, they had no idea what they were actually getting in the first place. It appears that Bungie's hand has now been forced into revealing everything we were always going to get in order to assuage the nerd rage emanating from their forums.
-
At least Deej had a clue to say something...
-
Haha who believes that? They will show you the stuff they had announced at E3 and tell you why a sparrow (which already was gift back when TDB started and every D1 has plenty of them), two grey shaders and the "mark of the unbroken" emblem is better than three unique emotes, exotic class items (which you'll never get other than buying the CE) and early weapon access. And the best is: If you are new to Destiny and buy the CE you get the game + all DLCs and the CE exclusive stuff for 80$, while D1 player have to pay 175$ for the exact same amount of content and if you buy and play your CE before February 2016 you will get the ViP pack as well! But like Luke Smith said: People will buy it anyway! Now go and make Luke a sandwich because obviously you're his bitçh!

It's damage control. Like I said in another post, the Bungie marketing team is likely in panic mode right now. This buys them some time while they figure out how to slap a bandaid on this whole thing without setting a very expensive precedent. They have budgets and payrolls and content costs them money, digital or not. Whatever comes of all this, it's going to be either existing and unreleased bonuses, cheap content or overhyped trinkets, because otherwise the expectations are too high next time. I'm not trying to be a downer or take their side, but I work in Marketing, and anything coming out that would have been content for a paid DLC is hitting a ledger line in somebody's budget, they're a business, that's how it works. Hopefully they don't go for the super cheap, because it's not going to be enough for people already feeling slapped in the face after TTK. Not that I'm going to see any of it, people like me will likely get screwed on both sides of it. I'm too new to qualify for any day 1 bonuses, and I already have the base game, so I'll have to buy all DLCs at current price. I have no horse in this race, but do I hope they make a decent offer, it'll be best overall for everybody's interests.

Edited by ItsWesleyNL: 6/23/2015 12:25:31 PMA ghost shell would do it for me. I would take that over the 80 bucks pack everytime

Deej is the PR man. It's his job to assuage any anger and dissatisfaction from fans and players. He gets paid a lot of money to come up with creative ways to make you feel loved and appreciated, keeping a veil over the truth, which is that the ONLY thing that matters to Bungie is how many of you will shell out money for their product. Smith, for whatever reason, chose the worst possible moment to reveal his honest feelings about the player base. The company does not love you. They probably don't even like you. But they will try their hardest to make you believe otherwise. Smith went off-message and created a nightmare, simply because he told the truth. People will react one of two ways. Some with shrug, and say "whatever, just give me more content". Others will finally say they've had enough, that it's one thing to pay a premium for sparse content, but not when worms like this simply presume you'll "throw money" at Activision/Bungie even though they regard you with disdain. Make your choice.
