I call bullshit on the free dlc thing. I can see right through it.

There showing the other video game companies that DLC is a small insignificant thing. And that an "Expansion Pack" is a large addition to the game, worthy of a money charge. The video game industry has shit all over the meaning of DLC and Expansion pack, CD Project Red is going back and setting the record straight, mad respect to them.
-
Ok thats funny.
-
Fine, call it that if you like. Even if it is cut content as you say(that's a whole other argument I'm not getting into). It's pretty much common knowledge at this point that destiny's dlc's are cut content. Destiny: cut content, charge you for it, give it at a later date Witcher 3: cut content, give it to you at a later date I know which of those options I'm choosing.

Edited by WhoAteMyFunDip: 6/25/2015 5:26:25 AMI agree. It's clearly shit cut from the game. HOWEVER, practically every other studio in the industry would charge $2 to $5 per DLC piece for it all, so...
-
Understood. However, instead they sold everyone a season pass... one of the worst things in gaming. Its all shades of shit my friend
-
The season pass has nothing to do with the free DLC. The pass gives you access to the two (true) expansions that will add more than 40+ hours of story driven content to the game. I'll just come right out and say this: A SINGLE side mission from Witcher 3 has more compelling storytelling than ALL of the story on Destiny's disc.
-
I'm not disagreeing. But, all this shit is a side effect of used games. Blame GameStop & the 13 year olds who keep them in business.
-
Used games sure, but also just really smart marketing people and lots of disposable income. Its why everything is a rip off. Movies, music, games... all a rip off. And I still choose to pay for the stuff I like.
-
...mind you Bungie's charging you $20 for - Emote, Shader, Sparrow and an Emblem ...in Witcher's free DLC you get - NEW Armor and/or NEW Quest (which pretty much equals to a new mission in Destiny, a mission they'd probably charge you $40 for, even so it's just a reversed version of an already existing mission with different color/size Boss at the end)
-
Edited by Rising Sol: 6/28/2015 5:38:00 PMThat single freebie mission in Witcher 3 will have more story in it then all of Destiny combined
-
very likely, last week i saw a video where a guy did a walkthrough of teh ENTIRE Destiny story and it took him 10minutes ;)

What exactly does it add? Lets see: Armor... which should already be in the game Crossbows- same thing Cosmetics for npcs- useless But ok, that stuff is whatever. It is the other stuff that tells me more. First there is the barber. This is supposed to be "dlc" but Geralt gets a free shave early on. The beard of course grows back. This is a built in mechanic. Yet the barber is part of the "dlc" meaning optinal... yeah. Then there are the extra missions, which all just fit in normally into the already developed world. My conclusion: it was cut content, packaged as "free dlc" to lubricate the assholes of the gaming media and disenfranchised gamers so they would pruchase one of those reprehensible Season Passes that Warner Bros likes to foist on consumers for future DLC not even finished yet. That "free dlc" is just marketing bullshit designed for the internet crowd. Its a bunch of bullshit.
-
That "free dlc" is just marketing bullshit designed for the internet crowd. Its a bunch of bullshit.
...while i pretty much agree with you, i need to ask this - what are Destiny's DLCs? imo it's EXACTLY what you described above - a bullshait (re-skinned weapons, shaders, reversed missions that ALREADY WERE in the game - howevere where CD Projekt Red gives you the stuff for free, BungieVISION will charge you anything between $20 and $40 for it ...you like that, fine by me, but i am not buying this anymore
-
Fine. But dont champion The Witcher 3 as some sort of light in the darkness of gaming industry bullshit when they have a season pass and bullshit marketing dlc. You want to really put a stop to it? Stop buying games from every single major publisher except Bethesda and play only Bethesda games and indies. Otherwise, you are feeding the beast. And you are not allowed to complain.
-
i am not complaining, i am just pointing out the obvious, which is: bullshait DLCs from CD Projekt Red are FREE vs. bullshait DLCs from BungieVISION are $20-$40 ...yeah, and also, i do like the Witcher saga, always been a great fan of Sapkowski too, however i do play the game only to fill the gap between now and No Man's Sky, once that is released, i don't think i'll be getting other games
