Destiny is starting to turn out like another major gaming franchise, you all know who I mean. There is no real reason to provide a collectors editon (CE) for Destiny 1 TTK Expansion Edition, however that would be appropriate/acceptable for a Destiny 2. By creating a CE they have introduced un-timed exclusives which isn't smart as lots of the players like to collect stuff even without the vault space to fit it.
Nobody really wanted to pay for this stuff considering long term players have paid more than enough to get up to and including TTK, but because some players don't understand value vs percieved value the community has been slapped in the face with "pay $20 and get 9 items" which is a big microtransaction, if this sort of thing is allowed to stand soon season passes wont allow you to get everything during the 'season'.
Pricing is 100% fine for the physical CE and the legendary edition, they are perfectly priced IMO.
$40 for TTK is not ok when the previous DLC 1&2 were poorly recieved, I understand TTK looks (so far) like it will be awesome, but you DO NOT get to charge this high a price point to CONTINUE after the initial release was a small rock dropped in an ocean and the DLC's were a couple of ripples through the sea.
Charging $20/$25 IMO would be the best price point (the best would be free as a thank you for all the f---ups over the year, but I don't see that happening and don't think it as [i]absolutely [/i]necessary) and this would honestly make a lot of Destiny players feel like you care that they stuck around through all the BS.

2 RepliesI do care, but I want the shaders. It is that simple. HoW sucks in my opinion. POE was a dumb idea with you being ablento get raid armor in 4 weeks or 3 with ethric light. If this "expansion" does not donit for me then I am done. I would like to keep playing but if it does not keep my interest than so be it. Not pre ordering TTK is not going to revamp the game. It is done. They changed the packs two days ago. Hopefully it is what everyone wanted, if not either buy the game or don't. I am glad everyone has time to give feedback to improve the game since bungie does listen. Good luck in your movement. Cheers Rob

1 ReplyWell at the moment I'm considering moving up in the console world hiring it out to the PS4. I'm like oh look 500 GB dropping in price due to release of 1 TB. Metal Gear Solid has pimpy looking limited edition console. Will prob grab that bundle, maybe just over £300, need to get three controllers on top, £40 each = £120, black ops 3 hitting stores are n November, £40. That's £450 is there a point in getting Destiny for £40 when it is said to be smaller than vanilla Destiny but same price? I mean I will be spending a fair amount of money here

2 RepliesGame development doesn't come cheap. I think it's a fair price for a great game. Shooters have gone downhill and destiny has managed to keep it fresh. That's just my opinion. I've managed to rack up 14 days-70,895 kills-1272 games. So maybe I need to play more

I have spent some time playing this game and I still find it enjoyable so of course I'm playing TTK. People need to chill out, this is a game not real life. If you think you have been screwed by bungie or activision, move on! There are a lot of good games out there. Go buy other games and bitch about them for awhile.

6 RepliesLet me spin you a tale: My son and I have been taking a break from Destiny. We thought "hey let's log into Evolve and see what's new." We log in and in the the last three months there were about $150 worth of micro transactions alone like changing the color of your monster. Then There was a NEW Season Pass 2 that was priced at $24.99 vs the original one which was $15. There were gun skins, etc etc etc... We had a heart to heart about the pricing and he openly felt it was a scam to print money. A twelve year old. Do we have money? Yes. But that isn't the point. Real value vs. perceived value is the point. So, we decided to put our money into a new franchise and we chose Bloodborne. Stacking TTK up against four year development time new IP's like Witcher 3 or Bloodborne makes even a 12 year old recognize real value. TTK is not "really" worth it compared to other games. It might be worth it because of your own list of perceived value reasons. But it is over priced- that cannot be disputed and offering up other overpriced DLC or free to play games that work off addiction gimmicks isn't a proper comparison-- certainly not one you would teach a child. TL; DR: If a game company can work tirelessly for four years and market the game and patch the game and still make money at $60 then TTK is overpriced.

Stores often sell game insurance in case you scratch your disc or etc. Bunglevision has made me request bad game insurance from gamestop. They know exactly what they are doing and it's completely predictable.

5 RepliesI think that 40 dollars is to much for TTK at this point as we don't really know what we are going to get. If there is enough content then maybe but by the looks of it there will not be enough content so the price does need to come down a bit.

4 RepliesWell said. If I play a game and love it (and I have seriously loved some games out there) then I'll take a serious look at DLC. I agree that the company producing it needs funding. But I will NOT pay 15-20 pounds plus for something that simply isn't what it appears. The Dark Below was a joke. ONE cutscene, and that was the trailer for it. House of Wolves? haven't finished the 'Storyline' yet, but the rest of it... Destiny's servers are so piss-poor I have a hard time playing the actual game never mind Trials or Prison of Elders that playing is a nightmare. And THEN they decide to release an 'Expansion' for 40 pounds. Firstly, they've lied about EVERY product in the Destiny franchise to date. Secondly, not one of the items has even remotely lived up to the hype and third? The main game is a broken frakking mess! Jeez guys! Seven pages of Error codes, countless reports of exploits and hacking and you want ME to pay YOU money so the same crap continues?
