The problem with Destiny is that it was mis-advertised. It's like buying a new car that was all hyped up and getting something we didn't expect(my Chevy Cruze without cruise control). Opinions aside, you have to admit that A LOT of what we were expecting and promised wasn't what we received. Fortunately, Destiny's core (gameplay, mechanics, etc) is pretty solid. Balancing issues aside (that can easily be changed with hotfixes), the gameplay is pretty good. The problem with Destiny is content. Content can easily be added to the game, and it's a solution they need to pursue. I personally think they need to put more emphasis on PVE and co-op content and less in PVP. Unless you are going to fully dedicate to a flawless competitive multiplayer, you shouldn't be wasting resources on it. Just look at how trying to balance for the Crucible has ruined some weapons for the PVE side. How much better would the main game have been if it ditched the Crucible altogether? If all that content was instead PVE content? Coming from my Halo and Gears and Titanfall background, I like competitive multiplayer that is built specifically for that. Who still plays Tomb Raider's multiplayer vs Halo? I'd like to see Destiny expand on it's universe a lot more. What's going on with the Traveler now that we saved it? Are we going on the offensive now(it still feels like we are stuck in the last city)? Continue the story where we start retaking lost areas. Add new co-op experiences that brings Guardians together(Some great battle, defending the Last City, attacking a Cabal fortress). Look at the events ran in Warframe for good examples. Give me a reason to keep playing. Don't try to play with my mind in buying DLC thinking I can't resist getting a specific item. From the studio that created memorable experiences found in the Halo franchise, I expected more.

  • Yes barebones game with little content, reef scene was basically it in vanilla destiny. PvP isn't hard, the players are the experience, just balance guns via hot fix and make a few maps here and there and that's basically it. More time to spend on PvE and have great multiplayer.
