Gurren lagann is good until that one buddy dies. It just isn't the same but it's still good. Full metal alchemist brotherhood is the good one because it follows the manga but full metal alchemist is good to because of the alternate ending and because of the movie that adds to its ending but I'd still watch brotherhood first
