Hi, Day 1 user from Hungary. Kinda skipped on playing Destiny for a few months, then I decided to reinvest in the game and buy the two expansions. Also rolled two new characters because I kept getting exotics for other classes.
Anyway that's my introduction. I already made a comment on the Bungie facebook page wanting matchmaking for all endgame content, but after I decided to try my luck on Reddit , and did the Raids... well I can kinda see why you need to look for users, and not just random luck. (I think Prison of Elders could work with Matchmaking, maybe even Skolas part, have not had the time to check that out)
Here's the thing though. The process in actually achieving a full group of six for a raid is really really time consuming. I'm not even talking about going online or here on the forums to post a request. It takes way too much time to actually gather a party of six. Not even that, it almost seems like blind chance, we do not know if the party leader will pick us up for the group, we don't know if once I send an invite or add a friend request (most annoying part of the entire process is bloating up my friends list with people). This resulted in me applying for multiple events accross multiple boards, and yet still the end result was:
I need to wait 30-40 minutes to start a session.
I'm not saying I need matchmaking for endgame content, I'm saying this game desprately needs an online lobby, or Looking For Group system that allows us to filter request, and the ability to track live requests without the need to friend people within the PSN or Xbox system. Hell why not just create an internal friend system, so it won't bloat my PSN friend list to gazzillions.
Please Bungie consider this request, as I enjoy doing the raids, and no it is not a hassle for me to get people from Reddit or from this site or any LFG, but the delay in actually getting people together and starting a match can be either a minute or an hour.
Or as a final resort, just announce it as a feature for TTK, just please please do something, as I am at my limit in terms of the patience I have for this type of: Wait in the line forever to do this content.
Could I please get a response to my concern ?
Sincerely,
A player who enjoys Destiny for all its shenenigans, and would love to make more friends across the world.

I've had nothing but bad experiences since they introduced matchmaking to the weekly heroic for example. - I have not had one single team or teammate talk in game chat. - most of the time one or more person just sits at spawn afk, sometimes they never return forcing me to either solo the mission or abort and try my luck again with randoms. - sometimes they troll you. There are many ways to troll, I won't list them all but a couple are; trying to run you over with their sparrow, popping a ward of dawn bubble when you have rockets equip, t-bagging you when you're dead and not reviving you. - I've had players decide to stop helping during a boss battle, just hide and wait for their rewards. - I've had people quit at any point of a match. -going back to my first point and one of the most important in my opinion, nobody talks in games chat. There's no communication or team work. Now tell me why that's a good idea in ANY game type, PVP or PVE? Maybe I've been extremely unlucky with the people I've been matched up with but as good as it sounds on paper, matchmaking does not deliver in reality. Basically either you find reliable, dedicated, decent players to complete activities with or you're screwed in Destiny. Using the recruitment section is hit or miss. I've met great people and I've had blabber mouth teens that never stop arguing, can't take advice and are terrible at the game. Whether the OP was talking about matchmaking or not I believe I made valid points in an argument against it.
