Ever since before the release of Destiny Thorn has been my favorite gun. The backstory was cool, it looked cool, and after I saw the final perks I knew it was going to be one of my favorite weapons.
I got it around the first couple weeks after release, and anyone who knows original Thorn knows it wasn't that good. Best weapons at the time were the Vex and the Suros, and even though I had the latter I still chose to use thorn ( I secretly thought it had become my friend 😉). I got thousands of kills with it, and then I hit that point that many Destiny players go through. I got bored. I played until a week before TDB and didn't pick up Destiny again until around a week after HoW dropped.
When I came back I was hurt. A man shouldn't love 1's and 0's on a screen, deep down I know I shouldn't care about code on a disk; but I had become...attached to the gun. So much so, that what became of Thorn was painful to witness. A gun that used to require some amount of skill had become a monster. A way to easily distinguish n00bs from everybody else. With thousands of kills with this gun, I've become branded as a n00b. My favorite gun has become a sin to use, and I can no longer use it without being branded. I'm not angry, and I'm not looking for nerfs or buffs. I just wanted to get this off my chest.
PS. Sorry about format, I'm on mobile.

This is my reason why. It's what most players seem to not understand about player vs player game types. One of The only reason hand cannons are so damn powerful is because of the chemical unbalance of weapon types in pvp. Auto rifles counter hand cannons, shotguns counter fusion rifles, pulse rifles counter scout rifles, ect. This is the main problem! By nerfing auto rifles not only have you given hand cannons unstoppable power you have taken out a very important part of equilibrium in this game type. So no, the solution is not in nerfing hand cannons. It's the simple fact that their is now chemical unbalance in the weapon types. Allow me to explain, a hand cannon is short to mid range combat. Hand cannons usally have a slower fire rate with high impact, while auto rifles (used in the same short-mid range combat) has a faster fire rate with a lower impact however, autorifle a can just as easily take down hand cannon users as they would be able to take them down. Just like how pulse rifles can be beaten by scout rifles at mid-long range combat where they beat hancannon users, how shotgun users can easily counter pulse rifle users. It's all about balance so, when it comes down to it all that needs to happen is a autorifle re-buff. This would change so much in player vs player combat.
