As the title states, I hope he replies, in the meantime, what do you think guardians?
Edit 1
For all of you who are getting butt hurt by this, have you seen any statements made? Or have you read a question, followed by a poll, followed by a speculative question. I have not once claimed this as a truth. There are many rumors and much innuendo surrounding this topic which I think needs to be clarified
Bump for confusion
-
-
Look at what you have done with your lies ! People now think their weapons will be redundant. Bungie has made NO announcement to this effect. Where is your source ! I have asked for this 3 times in this thread. I object to people who maliciously confuse and mislead their colleagues.
-
You are bullshit. You have no sources. You are speculating. -blam!- off and go watch Fox News.
-
I think they want to wipe and have all new weapons so they don't have to listen to nerf and buff posts ... It is the lazy way to eradicate the "buff Suros", "nerf Thorn", "give me Gjally" posts. A way to balance without having to actually spend energy on the game.
-
I could see legendary weapons becoming obsolete. But exotics? No way. PS still has exotics that XB players don't have, and won't get until the fall. That'd be a huge slap to the face of half their player base to say "hey, here's these exotics you've waited a year for. They aren't any good now, so here ya go" Yea, that won't happen
-
There's no solid proof or source that says they will be obsolete. IMO I don't think they will, as much of an uproar this community makes over the dumbest shit, this would be a legitimate concern for all. And plus that would mean that the exclusives Xbox players have been waiting a year for can now be acquired but then obsolete? I don't think so
-
So we know that year one weapons will not exceed 365. We know TTK raises the level cap to 50. That should mean that weapons gear for level 50 should crush 365 weapons. Year one exclusives are unlocked with TTK. If year one gear is to become obsolete then so will year one exclusives. From all that I can gather it looks like all exclusives (guns and strikes) will be useless after TTK drops. I'm failing to see where this is "Okay" and a suitable practice.
-
I don't think they are saying that They are going to do what they are doing in HOW Poe gear SPECIFIC to POE since there a "new" enemies there will be new guns that are better then what you currently have Rocket launcher vs corrupted fallen for example will do more damage than gally Now the real issue is that NONE of the poe guns are better than the old guns if they were people would want them but I don't see one post for "must have HOW guns" Year 1 gear will just be effective vs year 1 enemies since let's face it year 1 should have been out day 1 Year 2 guns will be effective vs year 2 enemies No more vault space so you have to pick
-
Yes. Destiny is completely loot driven. Without setting everyone back to zero, people will have no motivation to slog through the game. Bungie understands this. The problem with Destiny, is that it's completely loot driven. Players couldn't give two shits about the story or saving the world, when they're more concerned about a Gjallarhorn dropping. On top of that players have to level their weapons, upping play times across mundane content, whereas in similar MMOs, I can pick up a weapon and use it to it's full potential. This is because Destiny doesn't have much content overall. In other MMOs, I'm tripping over useful items. I can manufacture items that can be greater than what the game is offering. I'm not limited to a mere amount of weapons, because there are so many to choose from.
-
Please dont tell me this. After so many hours playing, I finally got my first G-Horn and I stumble onto here to find out it will be useless with TTK??
-
Would you show the beat up side of a car in a photo for a sales ad?
-
Its confirmed by DEEJ that weapons that are popular now WILL become useless in the coming days because there is going to be no way to bring them to a new damage table. Part of the reason why im not preorderibg it but mark my words theres shady shit theyre gonna pull for this raid!!!

Edited by StinkingRocket: 6/29/2015 10:30:18 AMI'm day 1 and I'm not pre ordering shit. Where's fallout 4? Where's the division? Worst run community organizer ever. Should run for president.
throws money at strippers, not screens.....
I'm not buying anything until I get confirmation of the following: 1. The content of the expansion justifies the $40 price tag 2. Exotic weapons will no longer be nerfed into oblivion at the whim of whiney PVP crybabies. Suggestion: ban all exotics weapons from Crucible, restore nerfs. 3. New weapons in TTK will be good and legitimate. One thing I liked about this game was how there were good weapons truly worth attempting to obtain. The HoW weapons are abysmal and not worth it 4. Legitimate vault space added Until these get answered, I will be patiently awaiting the answers before deciding if I want to purchase, with my hard earned money, The Taken King Expansion. Impress me, and I might even buy the additional $20 items. Until then, however, I am not purchasing anything.

Edited by SerDannoRanAway: 7/1/2015 3:21:53 PMThis is another example of Bungie telling us what we can and can't enjoy in our gameplay. I'll never get bored with Fatebringer ... period. I don't care if Bungie thinks it's boring. I like it. It's my favorite weapon and I don't want to lose it. One of the stated reasons for the auto rifle nerf was that Bungie wanted people to use pulse rifles. They just up and decided that we had to use what they wanted. This is another example. They have decided that they want us to use new weapons, so they are going to allow the current ones to fade into oblivion. Pretty totalitarian way to run things, if you ask me ...
-
If they make everything I've worked for in this game obsolete, I'll be seriously considering quitting. I can't see myself dismantling everything I have and doing it all over again, especially after they just gave us the ability to ascend our favorite gear. This would instantly make all the previous content irrelevant.
-
Don't know should be added because we don't. I'm not going to be happy if it's true though.
-
-
Where are people getting this from? Seriously, what's your source? I want to see for myself. It seems pretty dumb to implement the etheric light system just to ditch it in four months.
-
I've already pre-ordered TTK Collector Edition but if I find out that many of my weapons will be obsolete I will be cancelling my pre-order and leaving this game for good.
-
They'll probably add a second ascend upgrade...God forbid gear becomes obsolete to warrant more gear creation. I swear you people are so good at screwing yourselves wanting it all on a silver plate. Bungie screwed this game up, yes, but you're sure as hell not helping make it any better.
-
See this thread I made on this exact same subject: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/135128107/0/0/1

Let me get this straight 1) You make up crap; 2) Run a headline that looks like fact; 3) Mislead the majority of folks who don't check sources; 4) Add to the general confusion and hate; 5) All this in an attempt to attract comment from a guy who gets 10 of thousands of posts, tweets, reddit, Bungie.net, main stream media, Facebook, you tube and god knows what other sources every day. .......K How about you declare you are speculating or if not just quote your source.
-
They will be obsolet in the context of the new higher ranks/levels... Content from before will be good with old gear- i can deal with that
-
They would be total idiots to tell prospective customers that any weapon from VOG, Crota's End, House of Wolves, will be obsolete. No wonder they are saying the CE is such a great deal. there is literally NO reason to buy it aside from ttk and emotes, since the loot will be moot!
