I understand your point of view, and i partially agree. I played this game by myself for months, without being able to raid or to have access to weekly heroic and other things. I had very short sessions of playtime and therefore, i saw no point in doing it. So I agree with you...activities need matchmaking. I think however that SOME activities need matchmaking, while others need communication and should be left a group activity. I really think that for example Nightfall might be a matchamaking activity. We are talking about strikes that we have done hundreds of times...everybody knows how to do them. POE 32 is another option...it is really on "Nightfall" difficulty level. PoE 34, 35 and Raids is a different story. It can be done with randoms, but you need to speak to each other...Crota can be impossible with no comunication, and we are talking about a raid that has been done solo. I cannot even imagine a Vault of glass without comunication. And let me tell you, i helped some people do that raid for the first time. One time all the other 5 in the team were first timers. But all of them had mics and we manage to do it with only two wipes! (still one of my biggest Destiny moments).

  • I might give you the 35, but the 34 should allow it also. My son and I can almost duo it, but having that little bit of help from anyone at all would get us through it so much faster. Honestly though, I'd rather be in the 35 and have to restart a few times rather than spending that time trying to lfg someone. At least I'd be playing ... And so far, the match made people I've played with in weekly's are every bit as good, if not better than some of the lfg partners I've had.

  • I might be ok with 34 PoE. Even if you need some comunications in certain levels or bosses (Quadron, i'm talking to you!!) Finding a partner for 35 is not hard...i usually post an LFG and I get spammed by people that want in. The level of play is up to luck...you can have bad or good LFG players, just as you can have bad and good matchmaking players. The difference is that in a non matchmade situation you have some sort of control...if a guy goes AFK for far too long you can't kick him in matchamaking. Same goes if he is a jerk or unpolite, racist etc..Are you going to leave at Skolas just to teach him a lesson? what if he's doing that on porpouse so he can call his buddies or find somebody else in LFG??? One thing is for sure: making some friends will not hurt you or anybody. I met my current group of Destiny friends through LFG, and i met even more nice and supportive people by joining a good clan that is supportive and always open to do to activities while helping each other.

  • That raises a separate issue for me ... I think POE should have checkpoints too. I know all the sharing checkpoint arguments, but it is what we have for Crota and VoG. Imagine those when they first launched not having checkpoints. Add the checkpoints, and then yes, I'm perfectly fine returning to orbit to avoid a racist. I could leave and get back in less time than lfg takes. In short, I can keep playing, where currently, I have to leave the game to lfg, then get rejected quite a bit cause my son doesn't have Gjally, and then finally find a group only to have them leave or go afk. Mm cuts that circus in half. Plus, the friends I have made are all moving on to ESO making finding new friend another chore. Sorry, while I know there are a ton of great gamers in this community, there are also a lot of crappy ones. I'm tired of having to continually sort through them to keep making friends in order to keep playing one game. It is just plain unnecessary. Why not let me play with a random and decide on friending after playing, but keep me in the game to do it?
