What's your biggest beef with Skolas? I remember having this pressing need to do Crota every single week without fail, and have a full set of raid weapons and armor for 2 characters, it's not an issue of difficulty.
I don't do this with PoE and actually have not completed Skolas yet. Why? For me it's mostly the checkpoint, I just don't have that kind of time to play most nights; add in the fact that the rewards are really not any more attractive than doing the level 34 in much less time and using that etheric light to ascend an older raid weapon that's basically better in every way.
Edit: On further thought maybe it's 60/40 the lackluster rewards and not the checkpoint that discourages me, though they are really the same thing in a way: if I could pick it up again the next day at a checkpoint, the effort is less onerous. I'd like to see a single checkpoint right before Skolas (non-sharable) to save a lot of frustration from network issues or time constraints. It's far less demoralizing to say "OK, gotta, go, let's pick this up tomorrow", than "Well I just completely wasted my night."
Edit 2: For all you MLG ballers who solo it in an hour, more power to you but the site won't allow me to add another option now. Suffice it to say that this topic is not really intended for your particular demographic, which is suspect is the minority of Destiny players.
Edit 3: If your answer is "I do it every week, git gud," then please choose which option you think would make it more appealing than it already is. For your purposes, "too difficult" would equal "takes too long".

It's boring and honestly not worth the rewards (I have 11 weapon cores in my vault and 12 Etheric Light), plus I already have what I wanted from it (Solar Hand Canon)
-
Honestly, it's none of the above but if I have to choice it's checkpoints. It would be nice to stop whenever and pick back up later. Sure the rewards are eh...but I enjoy the fight provided I have the time to put into it. I've defeated him several times, don't see why people think it's hard. Communicate and let the bullets fly!

Edited by The Wizard : 6/30/2015 2:34:23 PMI normally do it every week just now I don't need it. I got extra etheric light sitting in my vault and variks sell shît I don't need it anymore what's the point
-
Should've added an option for "Not enough free time" I'm lucky to get lvl32 done on two characters due to my financial/work issue :/
-
I've not done it yet, in all honesty it's the lack of checkpoints. I don't get that much time to play, so if I end up having to leave before we beat him then I have to start all over again next time. I need to get it done really, at least once. The 34 doesn't want to drop the elder cipher for me so I'm hoping Skolas will.
-
It's shit. Not worth the effort in the slightest
-
I already have 16 EL just sitting about...no need for trials or 35.
-
I do beat him every week where's that option?
-
I have not tried it yet. The rewards aren't enticing. Eventually Variks will sell all the Fallen PoE armor and I will go complete it.
-
I've done it once, and I just don't need the elemental primaries.
-
Rewards vs Time invested. The elementals are not guaranteed drops. Even if you get a elemental primary the base stats are the worst and the perks the most unimaginative and useless perks possible. Shank and Dreg burn? On rocket launchers? But ToO will get PVE weapons. Shouldn't their perks be PVP orientated?
-
Can't be bothered since I have to lfg people and "play test " them through the first rounds to make sure they can handle it.
-
Beat him and it was what ever, but the rewards suck
-
Only did one Skolas last week. We beat the entire thing without wiping once. It's not hard, just takes long for the reward of 2-4 motes and strange coins, Etheric light #726272 and a Dreg burn rocket launcher

A team

Edited by TantrumBarb: 6/29/2015 9:03:52 PMToo much time for terrible rewards. If it gave 2x etheric light, 2x weapon and armor cores... Then I'd gladly do it. Plus, almost all of the fallen weapons are just bad, not to mention the horrible drop rate.
-
I've gotten three Elder Ciphers (only completed one so far) so the only thing I'm chasing now from Skolas is elemental primaries. To be honest Skolas isn't so bad once you figure out the mechanics. First time we did it, it took 5 hours to kill him. Second one took 3 and the third time we did it first try, no wipes. I guess the biggest hurdle is the no checkpoints thing. I get why Bungie wanted to take them away but I think this solution causes more damage than it fixes.
-
30 min for the first 5 rounds, then 2 hours for Skolas. After the frustration from people not knowing how to play as a team, you get $hit rewards. I've done it 4 times and all I get is the cypher, no elemental primaries. You should get some rewards for finishing the other rounds.
-
For me it's the time, I get on an hour here and an hour there, without CPs it's impossible for me to find the time
-
Not having a check point sucks but I'll get by, the fight can be very difficult depending on modifiers, but the only real reason I do it is for etheric light and elemental primaries. The light I can get a few different ways so not that big of a deal, but the guns NEVER DROP. That sucks, I wish they made the guns a guarantee from big skolas chest.
-
No Checkpoints and lack of time = no time for Skolas.
-
I don't see a "I'm lazy" option
-
Checkpoint means nothing to me, makes the team actually work harder. It's the shit rewards. Give me a guaranteed Jellyhorn? (after 10 skolas kills) You'd see me in there
-
No checkpoints and lack of rewards
-
Garbage rewards. I got all my exotic bounties and haven't stepped foot back into that.. The primaries are so bad it's a joke
