I´m very upset with the look of this armor piece...
It doesn´t match to the common hunter style in the game, it looks more like a crappy loot from World of Warcraft Ahn'qiraj Raid.
Remove this shitty bug on the left arm and replace it with the razors from the right arm, make them a little bit bigger on one side maybe...TADAAA, it looks like a cool item, not like a toy from the early 90s which slightly moves like the batteries are low.
What do you guys think about this sting thing without a sting?
I mean, khepri´s sting is the name and there is a bug placed on it. A bug with no sting...yeah!
-
Hey hey now i love that lil bug its like my lil sidekick when i running gunslinger
-
Sting thing without the sting?????? Every time something survives my backstab it always has a DoT poison effect on it
-
Well the armor piece is actually a shout out to the new monster hunter game, which features a new subclass that has a bug that you can send out to leech monsters.. Blah blah blah. It may not look the best but if every ham was pork chops we wouldn't have hot dogs.
-
Look at my humter
-
I think it's an amazing peice of gear. No, it isn't a typical hunter-styled piece. But, the scarab moves, and it's an OP backstab with bladedancer. I've seen it take out 15% of omniguls health in a nightfall.
-
Let shaders affect it as well! I bet it wouldn't be as stupid looking if revenant could be applied.
-
I really like it but don't use it very often. I think it looks cool. I'm a bro who doesn't care about pretty colors and dolls or toys.
-
It's fine, if you want to bitch about a color of an exotic piece of armour bitch about HOPF that shit only matches with like 2 shaders.
-
Remove the bug and you can't go invisible
-
Don't touch bob...
-
Try the undercity shader. I think it works well with it
-
Function > Form You get no bonus perks for how you look. If the perks work with your play style use the armor.
-
They should redesign this piece...

Edited by Oddish43: 6/30/2015 7:42:29 PMCan't say I'm overjoyed with the appearance as well. However, it allows a bladedancer to combine hungering blade or encore with stalker. I won't live without stalker. If there are a lot of crazed clawing/blasting enemies about, I want that hungering blade. And encore + showstopper = insane number of arc blade kills (just wish I could have all three). Ergo, my hunter uses khepri's sting. And though I only play as a bladedancer, consider the advantages of an invisible gunslinger.

ew bugs

The bug I could live with if it was slightly smaller... I absolutely -blam!-ing despise that awful shoulder spike though. Just doesn't look right at all. The whole shoulder piece looks like it was made of plastic. Should have kept it with the original design where they were going to have the piece based off of a serpent. Could you imagine a snake wrapping around your arm and the whole thing having a green/ black color scheme. Would go well with the cloak too... Way to -blam!- up again Bungie
-
Almost all the armor is poor in design. Once in a blue moon you get a set that looks cool, but then is ruined by that one piece. (Deathsinger boots, WIllbreakers helm, etc... the list goes on).
-
Khepri is the God of rebirth, the sunrise and scarab. Ra's aspect in the morning and is often represented as a scarab, or a scarab-headed man, holding aloft the morning sun...
-
Idk I kind of like the way it looks on my hunter...just saying
-
Many exotics in this game are related to many mythologies and references for example, praxic of fire is a reference to Dark Souls, dragons breath another one towards halo, jellyhorn Greek mythology, and the sting is Egypt
-
Edited by KidSixXx: 6/30/2015 4:00:26 PMKhepri is an Egyptian god associated with the scarab (aka the bug on the gauntlet) and he is a solar deity associated with rebirth. Scarab's bite. They don't sting. Personally I would've gone with the name Coils of Sutekh / Set or something and made the item have some sort of a snake motif. Then those Hunters among us who have horrible OCD could've worn it with the Venom of Ikaheka cloak that the Speaker sells.
-
You guys are all nuts. It looks just fine, it's a bug sting..... get it
-
It has to do with Egyptian Mythology. A lot of this DLC does, actually. Armor-wise, I mean.

Edited by Gyer: 6/30/2015 3:44:40 PMTotally agree - Khepri's Sting looks terrible - like a silly kid's toy!
-
I agree. It's terrible looking. Titan armor is fantastic, but this is probably the result of someone letting the intern design the hunter armor.
