He doesn't know anything about destiny or the mechanics of how to beat certain bosses and they're extensive (sometimes time altering) powers. He couldn't do it alone its impossible. Only one he might be able to beat is crota and even then he'd probably take his sword to keep him from using it and destroy the sword. So there goes his only way of actually damaging crota.
