I can fight someone with a knife, been there and done that, bit harder to fight someone shooting at me, been there and done that too. I'd rather have a muppet come at me with a knife than a gun. Don't read about British school knife massacres. We had an instance in Wolverhampton where a bloke attacked a load of kids having a school picnic with a machete .... no one died. We have a lot of knife attacks but not many are fatal.

It isn't like the media portrays it.

Of course we have murders. We also have the worst case of football related violence than anywhere else in the country. People think films like Green Street are fiction, they aren't. Shit like that happens. UK has far too much violence to even consider allowing carrying licenses for firearms. They are legal but there are incredibly strict "rules" with regards to owning one. We'll never see anything like concealed carry here, it would be like a warzone. I'm too old and have responsibilities at home now but in my youth I was part of that problem, I dread to think what would have happened if firearms were part of our lives.
