  • I did, you are comparing a hack and slash to a shooter. Just because they share a RPG tag doesn't mean they share the same fundamentals. Its like trying to compare classical music as superior to The Beetles.

  • If that is what you got from the OP then I seriously question your reading comprehension

Sorry that everyone who disagrees with your biased and emotionally driven "opinion" as fact seems mentally challenged; but, this is the truth. You can compare the two all you want with whatever qualifications you desire, it doesn't change the fact that you're arrogant to the point that everyone who challenges you is inferior. If you can't explore your opinion when a hole has been poked in it, you shouldn't be responding to others when this forum is full of people more toxic than you. Back on topic, you cannot compare two separate genres. Generally open world falls under RPG in the modern AAA industry, so I'll start from here. What you are comparing is the RPG mechanics between Destiny and The Witcher franchise, where a straight RPG can't function without a core mechanic, which is where the dominant genre differentiates the two. The Witcher series has always been a high fantasy hack and slash, with hints of RPG mechanics to split off from other hack/slashes such as Metal Gear Rising and Third Blade. While for Destiny, its core is the solid handling that Bungie his fine tuned over a decade for a shooter, where gun archetypes become the foundation as a RPG instead of solid looting and a entire planet to explore. Then there is open world when there is literally no such thing. Did you know that Dragon Age Inquisition also preached open world? The instances Bioware provided were incredibly small and two dimensional in comparison to Bungie's Destiny. Not only did the inquisitor lack freedom on all three movement axises, what was dubbed open world was in actuality just a larger than usual instances joined together in a traditional single player fashion. TL:DR Persona 4 and Manhunt (sick game btw, I'd advise to go nowhere near it)are better than the Witcher and Destiny combined, go back and read the last two paragraphs.
