I finally broke. Been a long time supporter of shotguns. And I still love them however, I've reached my limit. I got angry enough to throw my controller. IB is already frustrating with the non stop spawn flips, bad spawns,and -blam!-ING CONNECTION. But i'm sick of having people blink everywhere with shotguns and sliding with shotguns. I want this fixed. However I want to mention a few things first. Shotguns by them selves are not an issue. How much ammo we carry is no longer an issue. What allows shotguns to be as amazing as they appear to be is 3 things: ~blink/slide/unlimited sprint ~map design (on most maps) ~re forging. Now I don't think a nerf to movement needs to be made. And as much as i'd love bungie to give use more maps like widows court from now on I doubt it will happen. So we are stuck with reforging. Bungie had the right idea to start removing crutch perks and add downsides in. We need to continue this. ( I will note briefly that this is not going to be a direct solution until bungie doesn't allow the legendary's to carry into TTK.) So shot package should go. Or shotguns need a spread increase so shot package isn't so strong. Range finder may have to go entirely. As it stands even with the downsides on the barrels most shotguns can hit the range cap already. So all range finder does is make the shotguns stronger. I'm not sure if there are any other crutch perks for shotguns. Anyway we also need bungie to come in with some more perks as well. There were a lot of decent ones in HoW like battle runner and army of one. The goal eventually is to have it so weapon perks are based on preference. Not go to perks. Because IMO the major problem weapon wise with IB and trials is not the exotic weapons. it's the perfect rolls. If this gets good feed back I might make a seperate thread that includes balancing out the rest of the weapons, new perk ideas, possible ways to nerf some exotics, and anything else I can think of.
