Don't dismantle your Stranger Rifle.
With Bungie you never know if it's actually a key to a Easter egg.
The Stranger hands it to you. This could be Bungie's way of saying this is important for other things.

When I leveled my third character, I made sure to keep it around. They probably won't do anything with it, but maybe it'll turn into something cool eventually.
