Buddhists man. Anyone who says Christianity is tripping balls. Especially on these forums.

  • Between catholics, Jews and Christians, the Christians are actually the most peaceful of the group. Real Christians, anyway, the Christians that read the new testament and not the old, are some of the chillest people on earth. Nobody knows that, though. The Christians get blamed for everything.

I know what they are supposed to and or claim to be, all religions seem to attempt to promote some type of peace or unity. But as someone on the outside looking in the aren't peaceful. You don't have to make physical attacks to be considered non peaceful. Edit - there's also the rule of without saying. I'm breaking that rule by saying it but if you have to tell someone what you are, then there's a high chance that you aren't what you say you are. Like people that run around going "I'm crazy as hell, like for real" or my personal favorite "I'm not like most girls" - most girls.

  • I'm not a Christain. I had two kids by 19 out of wedlock, I say fuck more than any other word in my vocabulary, and I detest the idea of following a god that won't help me in my time of need because it's not in "his plan". I do, however, like to study theology. I know this counters your point, but out of the monotheistic regions, Christianity is the most peaceful.

  • For the most part of what I've seen personally the Christian posts are what bring out everyone else. Most religious talk stays in off topic and that's cool, but every so often someone posts some "pro Christian" topic in the destiny side and its usually greeted with negativity. Everyone has their own right to react how they so choose but I've never seen anyone post specifically for the Jewish people, Satanists, or anything else for that matter. I would say its too bad for them to be treated that way but they should know what to expect tbh. And hot topics like Christianity and the recent posts of a gay pride shader etc. Definetly brought out the worst in alot of people. Might not bring violence but alot of ill will and generally awful attitudes. They might not be ultra violent or aggressive but they are far from peaceful and that goes both ways.

  • There are Buddhist terrorists. There aren't Jainist terrorists that I know of.

  • Jainists just seem.... Odd... Idk how to put it really. I never knew what it was til I saw it listed in this post. I can't discount it to say it isn't a religion or doesn't count, but they seem extremely helpless. Being the victim doesn't make you violent but it could set you up for a violent end if you aren't careful and it seems like they don't have much regard for self preservation. It's like they do but they don't. Idk man its just so different in comparison its almost like it doesn't belong on the poll.

  • Buddhism is pretty different too, it's just that we are familiar with it. Jainism, at it's core, is entirely about nonviolence. That's about as peaceful as you can get, the main teaching is to not harm others.

Just curious but where are you originally from? I saw you posted a bit further down with the OP and your mention of people from further west not being as likely to know about it, I can side with that statement, but how did you find out about it, do you know of anyone who actively practices, and how long have you known about it? Not that time matters really, just trying to get a feel for your background. Edit also purely for Irony's sake and since no one said it I think anyone who Google's it initially may immediately go against it mainly for a specific symbol used. I know it originally meant and still does mean peace but still, just made me chuckle

  • I'm Irish/American, I have just happened to study a few minority religions out of curiosity. Leaning what people believe the true nature of reality is is pretty fascinating.
