Once again the operative word is OPTIONAL.
Those of us with jobs, kids and real stuff to do done have time to have a bunch of PS friends... sometimes we WANT to try our luck. Besides, if your THAT good that you feel elite... you should be able to survive a chance encounter with someone a lower level or is slack*ssing.
