Crota and Skolas are events most people were going to do anyway (if they bought expansion). Not everyone planned on doing Trials.
As for carrying through VoG and Crota, those are six player events against NPCs, of course a few people a raid are gonna get carried, especially if it's they're first time through it. Also, I don't remember people charging real world money to carry people through VoG and Crota like they do with Trials.
Although I do consider lagswitching crota cheating, I don't consider pushing Atheon or Templar over the edge cheating. If a player can fall off the edge, why not a boss? And the "that's not the way bungie intended people to do those fights" isn't a good response. if they didn't want people to push those bosses they shouldn't have designed the levels to allow it. Also, cheating against an NPC is different from cheating against other PLAYERS.
And I said the cheaters in trials are few and far between, so I don't know how I made it seem that every game has a cheater. I personally have only ran into one team of cheaters in trials, other than that it's usually just bad connections like every other game with PvP. The only reason I brought up cheating is because there is video proof of cheating in trials on this site and on youtube. There was more "cheating" in the raids that in Trials, but like I said, cheating NPS is different from cheating PLAYERS. One affects Bungie's ego the other affects players.
