So the One is not backwards compatible right now? I would have to wait until later this year to get the hardware that is?

XBOX.com states "Backward compatability starts June 15th for Xbox Preview members. The program will launch broadly in fall 2015." Nice so we don't have to wait till Christmas like other places were mentioning. :)

That's awesome, so it sounds like a software/firmware update rather than needing to wait for new hardware. I like that.

Correct. When I looked into it after it was first mentioned it sounded like you put the disk in and it downloads the XBOX One digital copy. Will know more in a month or so.
